History of Ards CCÉ

Ards Comhaltas was formed 1st July 1976 with eight members, who over the years played a pivotal role in the fostering and promotion of the Branch at all levels. After nearly 50 years the Branch continues to promote traditional music, song and dance throughout Belfast, the North Down / Ards area and further a field.

We are proud to share that Ards CCÉ will be the host branch for the 2026 All Ireland Fleadh in Belfast, marking a historic moment as it will be the first time this prestigious event is held in our city. The celebration will be the world's tribute to Irish music, bringing together communities and musicians from the globe.
